Easter morning will ring with the sound of children's squeals of excitement as they discover that an Easter visitor has paid them a visit leaving an Easter Basket filled with goodies. Then they will be off to enjoy the Easter Egg Hunt. I smile as I remember when my children were small and enjoyed the celebration of Easter. In my mind I imagine Jesus must be smiling as He watches His children enjoying their Easter excitement.
Easter is, for me, the most holy day of Christianity. Jesus was born at Christmas as we all were born. It is Easter that He rose from the dead proving to us once and for all that through Him death is defeated. For us, believers in faith, we have nothing to fear as death has no hold on us. We know because He went before us, in death, but rising in glory, so will we.
So as our children in their innocence delight in Easter enchantment let us as adults, with deep faith and conviction, celebrate the victory assured us by Christ that we will live with Him forever.
Delight in this day with a thankful heart for Christ our Risen King.
